*Onions, garlic, and leeks (allium family)-all contain a phytochemical that affords protection from cancer. Onions are antiviral and antiseptic. Members of allium family also help to decrease the tendency for clots to form, help lower LDL cholesterol and help to decrease total cholesterol.
*Garlic-has healing and antimicrobial properties. When sick make a drink combining 1 minced garlic clove with a small amount of lemon juice, maple syrup and filtered water. Drink morning and night. Has many healing properties. Antimicrobial, antiseptic, antifungal, antiparasitic and anticancer effects. It is warming, stimulating, and helps stabilize blood sugar levels.
*Sage-anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antimicrobial, antifungal and antispasmodic. A mild diuretic, act as an atringent and stimulate the immune system. Stimulates adrenals, greatly alleviating stress.
*Allspice-used as a seasoning, a warming herb used to remedy chills and to ease flatulence. Berries and leaves are used to perfume cosmetic and to flavor teas.
*Cumin-a stimulants, a digestive tonic and a carminative, which means it helps to relieve gas.
*Apple Cider Vinegar-a digestive stimulant, helps increase reproduction of stomach acid for the breakdown of food. Contains cholesterol-reducing pectin and many minerals, including potassium, phosphorus, chlorine, sodium, magnesium, calcium, sulfur, iron, fluorine and silicon.
*Quinoa-a high-energy grain that is easy to digest. Contains complete protein-has essential amino acids. Contains more calcium than milk, equals milk’s protein content and is high in the amino acid lysine. Helps with outbreaks of cold sores.
*Beets-a blood tonic, great for treating anemia, heart conditions and circulation. Beet greens are high in many nutrients, including calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus and vitamins pro-A, B-complex and C. Save beet greens for the next night’s stir-fry.Celery-great blood cleanser and helps reduce blood pressure. Helps remove liver congestion and can ease constipation.
